Technology makes GP appointments easier
Published: 22 February 2018 | Categories: NHS
Did you know you can now book your GP appointments online? GP online services are available in all GP practices in England. This means that any time, day or night, you can use your smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop computer to book an appointment. You can also request repeat prescriptions and see some of your health records.
This is great news for those that work busy office hours or shifts and struggle to find time to call the GP practice when it’s open.
Those that sign-up can use a website or app to:
- book or cancel appointments online with a GP or nurse;
- request repeat prescriptions online;
- view parts of your GP record, including information about medication, allergies, vaccinations, previous illnesses and test results; and,
- view clinical correspondence such as hospital discharge summaries, outpatient appointment letters and referral letters.
All you need to do to register is take two forms of ID along to your practice and speak with the receptionist.
Once you’ve signed up yourself, don’t forget to help spread the word amongst your friends, family, patients and colleagues.
