Have the presence of mind to remember your medication this Christmas

We’re urging people to order their medication this week so they are not left without vital prescription medication throughout the Christmas holidays. Dr Paul Oliver, clinical lead for NHS Nottingham North and East clinical commissioning group made the call as the NHS is set to announce the impact of winter on the NHS services across England.
Some of the problems the NHS faces arise from treating those who forget important medicines and end up in a hospital because of complications with their condition which may not occur if they took their prescribed medication.
Paul says: “The pressures of the build up to Christmas can lead to even the most organised of families to forget the most basic yet – vitally important medication to keep them well. Order this week – most practices need at least 48 hours’ notice for repeat prescriptions. It can be longer for community pharmacists so don’t leave it too late.”
So the message clear – ‘Don’t delay, order your prescriptions today!’
