Patients and local residents are being invited to join the team at Hucknall’s Torkard Hill Medical Practice for the surgery’s Summer Health Fair.
The fair, which is being held at the Torkard Practice on Farleys Lane in Hucknall, will take place on Wednesday 12 July from 2pm to 5pm, and there will be a wide range of activities on offer including:
- Mini health checks
- The Fire Brigade with a fire engine!
- Healthy choices cookery demonstration
- Crafts and health stalls
- Take a spin on the smoothie bike
- Lots of fun children’s activities
There will also be the chance to meet the doctors, nurses and staff that make up the Torkard team.
Local health and well-being organisations are also going to be delivering activities at the event so local people can find out about the whole range of health advice and support which is available in the area.
Torkard GP, Dr Hannah, says: “This is a great chance to invite our patients to see us in a more informal environment and for us to showcase what’s available at the practice and what other support networks are available in our local community. We’ll be on hand to do mini health checks and to chat to our patients at what we hope will be a very enjoyable event for the local community.”
All Torkard Hill patients are invited, while other local residents are more than welcome to join the Torkard staff and patients and get involved in the activities on offer. There will be light refreshments, a cake stall with goodies baked by staff and patients and the chance to take part in a free prize draw to win a hamper full of treats.
All proceeds will go to the Torkard Patient Participation Group.
